How to use anywho?

Anywho is slang meaning "nevertheless" it is also a humorous form of "anyhow" or "anyway"

Anywho is often used to change the subject in a conversation that has become awkward to continue especially in the case of inappropriateness. i.e.

Awkward conversation.

Host "Oh wow you have such cute kid, What's his name?"

Attendee "You mean her name?"

Host "Ahh... Anywho... so nice to finally meet you!

Inappropriate conversation.

Young man 1 "Dude look at that beautiful woman, I would definitely hit that"

Young man 2 "Thats my mum!"

Young man 1 "oh... right... Anywho nice car man, where did you get it?"

Recommendation!

I recommend that you don't use the slang term "anywho" as a non-native speaker. There is no situation that I can think of where this would not sound weird coming from the mouth of a non-native speaker.

You should use the word "anyway" as it is superior by far. It is use by both native speakers and non-native speakers and means exactly the same thing.

Whist you would not offend anybody by using "anywho" you should keep in mind that the slang was most likely created because of the mundaneness of always using a word as common as "anyway" Which is an issue that a non-native person would not have the experience of.

Anywho is a slang term. It is used to take the place of anyway, however, or anywho in a sentence or conversation. It is a transition word to cue the audience in that you are going to switch topics or revert to speaking about the first thing you were talking about if you have gotten off track for some reason.
