🌟 I am a native English speaker, born and raised in Canada 🌟 I am certified in Teaching English as a Second Language (TEFL) and Teaching English to Speakers of Other Languages (TESOL) 🌟 I can speak fluent Korean, have been studying for more than eight years 🌟 I have travelled to Korea several times and have absorbed the culture more each time 🌟 I have experience tutoring students with English at a high school level 🌟 I can explain difficult Korean grammar concepts in English to better understand from the perspective of a native English speaker 🌟 Excellent at editing writing and improving format for essays, assignments, etc. ☘️ English Courses 🥉 Beginner: Focus on pronunciation and expressions used in basic situations (eg. ordering food, introducing yourself) 🥈 Intermediate: Focus on greater grammar aspects of English, as well as pronunciation. At this stage, I will recommend the learner find easy books to read in-between classes to help with grammar concepts and vocabulary 🥇 Advanced: Focus on conversation on a variety of topics (eg. cultures, politics, science, tv shows). At this stage, I will assign young adult to adult level novels for each learner that matches their own interest ☘️ Korean Courses 🥉 Beginner (초급): Introduction to Hangul, as well as very basic phrases and grammar concepts. I will teach you Korean using formal speech (존댓말) 🥈 Intermediate (중급): I will teach you greater grammar concepts and help you create your own sentences. I will use examples taken from Korean novels and textbooks that helped me in my own journey with Korean. At this stage, I will recommend the learner find easy books to read in-between classes to help with grammar concepts and vocabulary 🥇 Advanced (고급): At this level, the lesson will be taught using Korean. I will speak Korean to the learner and encourage a response in Korean. Focus on conversation on a variety of topics (eg. cultures, politics, science, tv shows). At this stage, I will assign young adult to adult level novels for each learner that matches their own interest ☘️ Every lesson plan will be designed to meet the level of the learner after our first trial class 🐇 My teaching style is varied and depends on the learner. I want to make my courses engaging for everyone, which means I take into consideration the interests and goals of every individual student 🎬 TV and movies: I will go through the dialogue of famous scenes in movies and TV series and help the learner understand 📚 Books and textbooks: Books are a great way to experience culture and language at the same time. I will use books a lot to help the student learn pronunciation, grammar, and vocabulary 🎤 Conversation: speaking a language can only be improved through speaking. I will prepare topics to discuss every lesson, and give the student feedback on their performance 📄 I will prepare homework and tests for students as desired.
