Ka Lak Caleb Li is a versatile musician from Hong Kong, specializing in viola, violin, and composition. Currently pursuing a Master of Performance in Viola at the Royal College of Music in London, he is supported by The Croucher fund under the guidance of Nathan Braude.
Li's musical journey began at the age of 6 with violin lessons, setting the stage for a lifelong passion for string instruments. At 19, he formally embraced the viola, elevating it to a professional vocation by the age of 23. With First Honours in the Bachelor of Arts in Music from The Chinese University of Hong Kong, majoring in violin and minoring in viola, Li's formative years were guided by esteemed instructors, including Professor Elvis Cheuk.
His repertoire spans solo and chamber performances across international platforms, including notable roles in orchestras. As Principal Viola in the Hong Kong Youth Philharmonica, he showcased his talent globally, including performances at the Hong Kong Culture Centre, City Center in Hong Kong, and various venues in Switzerland, Italy, and the UK. In 2023, Li performed as the Hong Kong Youth Musician representative at the Hong Kong City Hall.
