Had this online lesson with my tutor and it honestly felt more like hanging out than a class. We were covering British political economy and European topics, but the way she taught made it feel like a journey.
She shared this personal story about Father’s Day — going out with her husband, two sons, and daughter for a meal, then walking along the beach and through the fields afterwards. I only saw the photos of the scenery, but they were stunning, and hearing her describe it gave the whole session such a warm, human vibe. It felt like we were right there with her, almost like traveling together.
What really stood out is how much she genuinely loves teaching and cares about her students. You can feel that passion in every part of the lesson. Plus, she’s got a real gift for counseling, so it’s not just about learning facts — it’s about feeling supported and understood.
Overall, it was one of those online lessons that leaves you smiling afterwards. You walk away not only smarter, but also feeling like you’ve shared something meaningful. Amazing tutor, amazing vibe.

Hearing a true Harry Potter fan explain what the series means to them was unexpectedly inspiring and finally helped me understand why it resonates so deeply with so many people.

So, while I was in this class, I learned many things, for example, how to study, but I think for me, instead of 20-30 minutes, I usually do around 60-90 minutes and take a 20-minute break without scrolling, because your brain can't take all the information. Planning when to do your homework is efficient, but I usually do it by feeling. If I feel energetic and kinda ready to study, I do the hard ones first, but if I feel sleepy and tired, I usually do the easy ones first, so that I don't implode on the hard homework when I'm sleepy. Your brain can't remember what you learned.

Ms. Janice is a very enthusiastic teacher. She was well-prepared for the first lesson. She has the magic to turn my words into beautiful sentences!
We were working on some interview questions and I was not confident in the first place. However, she was patiently guiding me to think of the questions. All of a sudden, I know what to say!
I can't wait to see Ms. Janice in the next lesson!
Highly recommend!

Q4. What's the right learning environment for me? Should I choose a Study Skills tutor who is a native speaker?
One of the best ways to learn Study Skills is to immerse yourself in an environment where you try to use only Study Skills.
However, if you do not currently have a solid base in spelling and/or vocabulary, we recommend you choose a bilingual tutor who speaks your target language and your native language, as you will likely have a better learning experience during your one-on-one private tutoring.
If you have a good range of vocabulary but lack the opportunity to practice, then we recommend you choose a native Study Skills tutor.
