I've been Ritu's Hindi student for four months (and counting!). When I started, I knew nothing and she took me from the basics of writing, sounds and pronunciation to now reading sentences in books and practicing conversations. She's knowledgable about grammar rules, which I love (I'm a journalist and journalism professor), and tailors the lessons to fit my learning style and needs. I highly recommend Ritu's expertise in taking a non-Indian/native English speaker into the world of Hindi speaking. I started with three 25-minute lessons a week, which was perfect for the early months of learning the script, sounds, etc. When we advanced into grammar rules, it was beneficial for us to have one 50-minute lesson a week. This gave us time for her to explain the rules and for me to ask questions and practice. Ritu has helped me realize that this adult brain of mine is capable of learning a second language! Suman is an excellent teacher and does a very good job of explaining concepts in a way that's easy to understand. In just a few one-on-one lessons I already feel I'm beginning to make some progress. She makes detailed notes of everything we cover - including mistakes - which is great for revision and practice. I'm really enjoying her lessons! :)

i have done 3 classes with Ritu so far and i really enjoy them a lot. she is very helpful and answers questions when you have them and is a very professional. i feel like i am making good progress and i would recommend her to anyone who is trying to start out!!
