As most of my students know, in English we have a spelling rule 'i before e, except after c'. It is a basic spelling rule and MOST words follow it, such as: 'believe/ die/ friend' etc

But in the case of weird, it's a weird (irregular) word and unfortunately it doesn't follow this spelling rule

There are other exceptions to this rule too..

Such as:

• Ceiling
