Irregular Plurals

Instead, their morphological structure differs.

woman-women
child-children

NOUNS
A noun is a word that names a person, place, or thing. Woman, dog, friend, America, weather, playground, and teacher are examples of nouns.
REGULAR NOUNS
You can often tell if a noun is singular (=1) or plural (>1) because it has the letter 's' added to the end. For example, I have one cat and three dogs.
There is no "s" at the end of "cat" because there is only one cat. There is an "s" at the end of "dog" because there is more than one dog.
IRREGULAR NOUNS
Some nouns do not follow this rule. They are irregular because the singular and plural forms have different spellings.
Man (=1) ---> men (>1)
woman (=1)---> women (>1)
child (=1)---> children (>1)
person (=1)----> people (>1)
In this case, WOMAN is singular and is used to tell about only one woman while WOMEN is plural and used to talk about more than one woman.

That woman is my mother. My teacher is also a woman.
My mom and my teacher are both women.
