一、释义不同

1、so that的意思是以致、为了、以便于;

2、so…that…的意思是如此……以致。

二、用法不同

1、so that 引导目的状语从句，常放于句中;

例句：我读更多的书，以便我能赶上我的同学。

2、so…that…中so是副词，常常用来修饰形容词和副词，that引导结果状语从句，常和too…to…结构互换。

例句：He is so old that he can't work。他太老了，不能工作。

三、从句性质不同

1、so that 引导目的状语从句，意为“以便;为了”，常放于句中，但是in order to常放于句首或句中，so as to常放于句末。

2、so…that和such…that都可以构成结果从句，所不同的是so…that之间接形容词或副词，而 such…that之间接名词。一般情况下，即使名词前有形容词修饰也不能换用so…that。

三者之间不同

1. so是一个逻辑连系词表示所以，或者是作副词表示如此......后面通常加一个形容词或者动词。

2. so that是一个类似于so的逻辑连接短语。想表示「為了……」、「好讓……」時，可以用 so that 來表達 目的 。 此外，前面提過 so that 比 in order that 不正式，其實，在很口語的情況， that 甚至也可以省略。

怎麽使用呢？

so that 的意思是“以便”。

so...that... 的意思是“如此...以致...”，表達好的現象/結果。so後面加形容詞（adj）。
