📕 Basic / Intermediate Course: Pragmatic Approach, Balanced Development in Listening, Speaking, Reading, and Writing
🍎 Ideal for:
1. Elementary to junior high students: preparing for school exams or GEPT, practicing conversation
2. Students who want to rebuild their English foundation: those who feel their past learning was shaky and want to review reading and speaking
✏️ The biggest issue with English education in Taiwan is the overemphasis on reading and writing. Whether at school or cram school, students rarely get a chance to speak. My course emphasizes speaking first—no more situations where you can read but not pronounce or use the language.
✏️ Teaching Materials: Teacher-created handouts – “Practical English Conversation”:
• Level 1: Basic conversation, expressing likes/interests/quantity/weather/date/jobs/transport; present simple and continuous tenses. Level: around A1 (1st-year junior high).
• Level 2: Future/past/progressive tenses, causative, sensory, and ditransitive verbs, expressing plans and past events in more complex sentence structures. Level: A1~A2 (2nd-year junior high).
• Level 3: Present perfect, passive voice, relative clauses, indirect questions. Includes extra reading/cloze exercises. Students will give oral presentations and write related topics. Full development of listening, speaking, reading, and writing. Level: A2+ (preparing for B1).
✏️ Focus on listening/speaking in class. Reading is assigned beforehand. Handouts provided after class to help review and take personal notes.
✏️ Students who are okay with homework may inform the teacher—they’ll receive exercises to maintain steady learning! For current students, homework will be regularly assigned to reinforce content.
✏️ Students aiming for GEPT (elementary) or junior high test improvements are welcome. This class covers GEPT elementary topics, which overlap with school exams but GEPT has more practical use, and school tests often focus more on grammar.
📗 Intermediate / Upper-Intermediate Course: News English & Media Discussion
🍏 Ideal for:
1. Junior to senior high students: preparing for school/GEPT, practicing more advanced grammar, reading/writing
2. Students with basic English who want to go further
✏️ At this level, we’ll start using news and video content.
✏️ English is not just for exams—it’s a tool for real-life communication and global access.
✏️ Let’s aim to “see the world through English” and grow together!
📘 GEPT Exam Course (Elementary / Intermediate / Upper-Intermediate Oral & Writing Focus)
🍎 Ideal for:
1. Students preparing for GEPT Elementary (L/S/R/W)
2. Students preparing for GEPT Intermediate (L/S/R/W)
3. Students preparing for GEPT Upper-Intermediate (Speaking/Writing)
✏️ Realistic mock questions with full vocab/grammar explanations.
✏️ Supplemental exercises to help tackle various question types.
✏️ Worried about speaking? I’ll simulate the test format, coach pronunciation, word choice, and offer useful response tips!
✏️ Worried about writing? You’ll do pre-class writing, and in-class we’ll dissect grammar and vocabulary. For upper levels, I’ll also provide my own “English Writing Essentials” handouts.
