KabriaMar 21, 2026Truly, I don't even know where to begin. I've been working with Erika for over two months and the growth I've noticed in my Spanish speaking skills over that time es increíble! When we first started lessons, I was stumbling over my words, using lots of fillers as my brain worked hard to find the appropriate words. Now, I feel like our conversations flow with ease and I speak with a confidence I've never had before. It is a testament to the type of teacher that Erika is. She is incredibly kind, patient, and capable of understanding me when I am struggling to find the appropriate words. She challenges me to grow in ways I never thought possible. Instead of just searching for the word I don't know, I can now explain the concept and she does the translating, growing my advanced vocabulary knowledge. I am able to use the skills I've gained with Erika in my profession and feel confident calling myself a bilingual psychologist. Before beginning lessons with Erika, I felt like a fraud calling myself bilingual. Now I truly feel like an emerging bilingual. My skills grew from an advanced beginner to an advanced intermediate level very quickly. I've worked with multiple tutors on Amazing Talker, but Erika is the first one that has kept me motivated to continue learning. I can't tell you what her secret ingredient is that make her lessons so fun and engaging. There is definitely some kind of magic in them, a little sprinkle of joy and always a lot of laughter. It could be her kind, unassuming nature. She feels like a trusted friend and confidant. We've shared parts of our lives with each other. I feel I can be real with her, which adds a richness to our conversations I've never found with other tutors. She's super intelligent. Her Spanish is impeccable, easy to understand, and she speaks clearly and without an accent. She has helped my confidence grow exponentially. She does so intentionally and it feels genuine. Not forced. Although she's a busy professional, she gives her time to teaching students because it is clearly a passion for her. I know she truly wants all her students to find success learning and speaking Spanish.
