I'm Finn from the UK, based in Taiwan as a certified teacher and currently living in the USA. I am a native English speaker and very fluent in Mandarin Chinese. Yes, I have a "standard" British accent (Received Pronunciation) but I can also tone it down when necessary.
I've been teaching ESL in classrooms for almost 6 years and on-line for 3. I believe structural learning in a full-English environment is the way to go. Besides a solid curriculum, I'd like to introduce cultural references, historical backgrounds, western humour and recent events into my classroom. After all, those elements, though underestimated are crucial to comprehending a language. Learning English with me is like taking a trip overseas! We learn smart not hard.
If you seek an authentic conversation or a customised course to advance your career, experience a class with me and let’s have some fun!
***DEAR NEW STUDENTS***
Be kindly noted that trial sessions are typically longer than 30 minutes, so please plan accordingly.
The meeting aims to demonstrate a standard curriculum, evaluate abilities/ needs and determine the best lesson plan for you. Show up relaxed and reserve extra time so we can get to know each other!

***Dear Ms Lee
Thanks for the honesty, I'm very sorry to hear of your bad experience.
First of all, I cannot help a slight delay, (say, 5 to 10 minutes) especially when classes are packed solid without any breather, as I like to leave time to answer any possible questions from the previous session. Knowing you were waiting, I tried to get back to you as soon as possible. Also, I was sure that the AT team was as always, very responsive. Most online schools limit classtime to 45 or 50 minutes for this very reason. Nonetheless, I do apologise for the wait.
Secondly, I'd like to assure you that all classes are prepared beforehand, although some DEMO classes are flexible and subject to change—like in your case, we skipped to a formal class material to give you a better grasp of what a conversational class would be like because that seemed to be your main concern.
I have taught mainly adults throughout my career and I could perhaps say that I'm quite familiar with adult learning. Thereby, I've designed my curriculum in a certain format. I understand that it's not a method to please everyone out there since language learning is personal. I will take your feedback to heart, in hope that we can figure out a way to meet in the middle. However, I'd like to point out that the advantage of Amazing Talker being that you are free to choose an instructor who fits your preference and needs the best. If you feel that I do not satisfy any of that, I'm sure my fellow teachers are happy to work with you.
Again, thank you for your participation. Unfortunately, I was unable to see your feedback until payment confirmation, so I cannot offer you a refund this time. Perhaps in the future, should you be unhappy with a lesson, contact through message before any haste conclusions. We are all here out of goodwill.
At last, I hope this message finds you well and that you will not lose faith in the AT service. Cheers.
