Yu-Jie Huang Jazz Pianist • Arranger • Educator Yu-Jie Huang is a Taiwanese jazz pianist, arranger, and educator whose work spans jazz, pop, orchestral, and cross-genre music. He received his Bachelor of Music degree from the National Taipei University of Education and continued his studies in Jazz Studies at Fu Jen Catholic University. As a performer, Huang has collaborated with renowned Golden Horse Award-winning filmmaker Tsai Ming-Liang and has appeared throughout Taiwan, Hong Kong, and Xiamen. He was a finalist in the Taichung Jazz Festival Rising Star Competition and has performed at both the Taipei Jazz Festival and Taichung Jazz Festival. He was also invited by the TJO Big Band to perform at the National Taichung Theater. In recent years, Huang has been active in Taiwan’s contemporary music scene, participating in the production of Lei Ching’s album Dive & Give, which received nominations at both the Golden Melody Awards and Golden Indie Music Awards. He has also performed at major festivals including Megaport Festival and Vagabond Festival. In addition to his performing career, Huang has developed a distinctive voice as an arranger. His orchestral and jazz-pop arrangements have been featured on works by Lei Ching and Joyce, and he collaborated with Grammy Award-winning pianist and arranger Randy Kerber on string arrangements for the “Absolute Music” segment of the 2025 Hito Pop Music Awards, performed by Crowd Lu. Huang has toured internationally with various projects, including performances in Bali and the Myanmar 328 Earthquake Reconstruction Memorial Concert Tour, which brought him to Yangon, Mandalay, and Naypyidaw. As an educator, he currently teaches at the Music Program of National Taichung Second Senior High School, the Fu Jen University Jazz Piano Club, and Debussy Music Arts Center.
