I graduated from the Department of Foreign Languages and Literatures at NTHU. I am currently pursuing my master's degree at the Institute of Philosophy, specializing in Aristotle's Poetics and Greek tragedy. I primarily teach Ancient Greek, and occasionally Latin. If your mother tongue is Chinese, I can also assist your learning. The textbooks I use for teaching ancient Greek are Athenaze and Oxford Grammar of Classical Greek; as for Latin, Latin Via Ovid. You can purchase these textbooks from other platforms, and I will also provide some handouts. 【Introductory Level】 My teaching method emphasizes reading and translation, with a focus on learning how to translate original texts into fluent English; therefore, a basic proficiency in English is required. However, there is no need to worry too much—while I do not teach English directly, your English skills will naturally improve a great deal through the process of translation. Outside of class, students are expected to spend a significant amount of time preparing English translations for assigned Ancient Greek or Latin texts, which we will correct together in the following session. The correction process is as follows: you will read a sentence in the original language, followed by your English translation, and we will review each sentence one by one. I will provide feedback and explain the relevant grammatical concepts as we go. 【Grammar Intensive / Advanced Grammar】 These lessons are custom-designed based on each student's specific proficiency level in Ancient Greek or Latin. Because everyone comes in with a different grammatical foundation, I primarily assess your current level and tailor the course material accordingly, helping you grasp grammar through clear, accessible explanations! In addition to language learning, I also integrate insights into ancient history.
