What is better than playing while learning?

Learning through playing is a method of learning that is approved and highly recommended by UNICEF. Not only does it make learning fun, but it also makes it engaging.

It was at the beginning of 2020 when I started learning french. As I entered a new school, they offered new curriculums and in turn, a third language. For me, this was a chance to learn another language and explore the endless possibilities that this road of learning a third language has to offer.

Though It may sound all nice and easy doing a third language, but it really isn’t. And especially with a half a year late start (as I came to this new school halfway through the year) It was not easy for me to keep up. Throughout the lessons, I often got confused with what the teacher was talking about. So therefore, a lot of the time, I couldn’t complete my homework. This meant that in assessments, I also did terribly.

It dawned upon me that the treacherous path of success in french was filled with treacherous mountains, raging lakes and winding paths that seemed to go on forever. A symphony of pain, a cacophony of despair and a chore of suffering threw me down the dark abyss of failure as I plummeted, deeper, and deeper.

Despite all this, as Ada Adams once said, “There is a light at the end of every tunnel.” And my light was the learning platform of Amazing Talker. It was in the summer of 2020 when my friend who does Japanese on this platform introduced it to me. (He got a free 20 dollars, if you didn’t know, you can introduce someone to amazing Talker and get 20 dollars for free) Here I met my teacher Mattieu who guided me through the dark and taught me french, helping me go from the worst in the class, to one of the best in the class.

So now, many of you may be wondering how we did this, and what we did to be this successful. The answer was simple. Start from the basics, and work your way up. There was no shortcut, but with every lesson we did something different. Mattieu would always try to make his lessons as vibrant, interactive and fun as possible. A few examples of the games that we played were rebusses, dice games and snake and ladder games. But along with these, there were also a variety of math questions in french, videos, and pictures that I had to describe to Mattieu in French.

Everyone has their own ways of learning, and everyone has the types of teachers that they prefer. Maybe someone might like a stricter teacher while another likes a more relaxed teacher, (Generally parents like stricter teachers :P) but Amazing Talker has them all. There is a vast variety of different teachers on this platform that is here to support you. It really is a pleasure to have a platform like this where teachers around the world can help us improve, so grasp your chance and learn the language that you chose well!
