Students are hoped to become better, more confident learners of English.
In this course, students will be given more opportunities to learn and practice English. The course combines topics, functions, and grammar. There are 16 units in this course and is divided into sections. Each section has its own purpose: -presents new vocabulary -uses student's opinon and experiences about a topic to present new grammar. -natural,fun dialog that also introduces new grammar -practice/activities -pronunciation exercises -check the student's development
Lesson 1-Unit 1 A time to remember; Past tense; used to for habitual actions
Lesson 2-Unit 2 Caught in the rush; Adverbs of quantity with count and noncount nouns; indirect questions from Wh-questions
Lesson 3-Unit 3 Time for a change; Evaluations and comparisons with adjectives; evaluations and comparisons with nouns
Lesson 4-Unit 4 I've never heard of that; simple past vs. present perfect; sequence adverbs
Lesson 5-Unit 5 Going places; Future with be going to and will; modals for necessity and suggestion
Lesson 6-Unit 6 OK. No problem!; Two-part verbs; will for responding to requests; requests with modals and Would you mind...?
Lesson 7-Unit 7 What is this for?; Infinitives and gerunds for uses and purposes; imperatives and infinitives for giving suggestions
